Established in 1917, Wild Barfield (Almor’s standard furnace design arm) has more than 90 years experience in the design of electric furnaces and ovens. Over this time an extensive range of proven “standard” designs has been developed and now incorporates the latest technology in atmosphere and furnace control systems. These include:
Vertical retort furnaces for gas carburising and gas nitriding

Large Furnace Installations
Almor represents the global Austrian furnace engineer Aichelin in the UK and Ireland. This partnership enables Almor to support these markets with large furnace heat treatment installations e.g. high throughput pusher carburising plants, ring hearth furnace plants, roller hearth tiles and much more. From the same partnership Almor is also able to supply:
- NOXMAT combustion systems offer a range of energy efficient and environmentally friendly high velocity open fired and radiant tube burners in ceramic and alloy designs.
- EMA induction heating systems and frequency converters.
