The Vacuum Furnace Service Division of Almor Group has recently completed the major refurbishment of an Abar bottom loading vacuum furnace at a leading aerospace company.
The hot zone of the furnace was reinsulated, in barrel stave format, using foil faced fibre form graphite insulation board faced with a sacrificial skin of perforated graphite foil. A new set of molybdenum heaters was installed with a redesigned element support system.
A new cooling gas heat exchanger was installed together with modifications and improvements to the water cooling pipework.
